RESPONSE TO THE NATIONAL POST'S ARTICLE
Come back for updates

Dear Editor:
In a recent National post article journalist Megan O’Toole proved her unprofessionalism by writing an article based on an email sent to her by an unnamed source.   It was so poorly written and facts were erroneous that we decided to break protocol and actually respond to some of these issues.   The article claims that our sister who recently past away was forced to seclude herself from her family, yet pictures posted to our website prove that family members were indeed included from time to time in church events.
In fact Our sister’s last will and testament not only outlined in detail how her final preparations were to be carried out, but the very sister (Christine Graham) that complained to the Post about being excluded, is named as the secondary executor to her will. Furthermore, Christine’s husband Patrick Stoute’s signature acted as witness to this legal document, while occupying the office of the Chief Priest knowing full well the practice that would have been done, as he helped to put the said will together.   This is nothing more than disgruntled former members.

After the passing of Andrene, there were several meetings with her family, many text messages were sent back and forth which are on record, and even a memorial gathering was organized for the family at the express wishes of Andrene’s mother.   The family agreed that Andrene’s wishes, as outlined in her Will, are “what they wanted to carry out”. Both Andrene’s mother and relatives were asked whether they wanted to participate in the Memorial gathering, to which they declined citing “that their family members talk too long and we will be there all night”.

Ms. O’Toole, if she was a professional reporter, should have done her research properly and professionally before putting it to print; including the true definition of a cult rather than boldly printing hearsay. For her information a cult is defined as a group that follows the philosophy of one man. There are significant characteristics of a cult that our organization does not have.   They exist in secluded areas where people /family cannot access them. They are constantly brain washed day in day out.   We are Sabbath keepers we meet one or two time per week and take our teaching from the old and new testaments. Our members come and go as they please; have jobs in the public and private sectors and are involved in our communities.  We have a governing body of men and women. There is nothing stated in the article or responses to the question that Ms. O’Toole asked that point to our organization being   termed as   “Cult-Like”.

Ms. O’Toole did not even have the common sense to investigate Andrene’s Facebook page were she would have found a great deal of information, including plea’s to her biological father and sister and a thank you note to Elder Shadrock. Instead, O’Toole made mention of Elder “Shadrock in pictures like a Rock star with pretty young women” and went on to post an example picture.   She did not even do her homework to find out that the women that were in the picture are his biological daughters; some of whom are part of the organization.

We will be investigating any ways or means that we have up to and including, retractions or legal avenues to rectify these inaccuracies.

It is really sad that instead of focusing their anger towards Paul Black, the perpetrator who murdered a beautiful and courageous woman in the prime of her youth; has placed all of their energies and focus only on, for some reason, Andrene Graham’s Place of worship. They have somehow forgotten that this woman had five children who are now without a loving mother.

Would it not have been more productive to use this space to speak about the five children that have lost their mother and now have to find a way to survive? Has this National paper asked one question about this? That is the most pressing story. We asked Megan to print the trust fund information that the eldest daughter Ciera set up. This was not done.   It may not sell as many papers to print this information and to focus on the children’s needs, but it would be the right thing to do. There should be a crying shame on the perpetrators and those who assisted in degrading Andrene's values, belief and dedication. Should we not have been reading more about the twisted mind of Paul Black for whom Elder Shadrock was trying to keep her away from? Shame on all of you.
