Our Name
The ministry has carried five names in forty years. Each one records something of where it stood at the time.
The names, in order
At its founding the body was known as the House of Israel. It became the Nation of the Lost Tribes of Israel, then the Israelite Nation. For a period it was registered as the International Israelite Organisation of Canada, the IIOOC. It is now the Israelite Nation Worldwide Ministries. The Israelite constitution was accepted by the Government of Canada on Friday 20 July 1990.
Israelite
Identity, including naming, is the responsibility of the parent. Israelites were chosen and so named by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The name is not a claim made by the people about themselves.
Nation
To be an Israelite goes beyond practising a religion. It is a culture and a way of life, and the word nation carries that: a people, with statutes, a calendar, a lifecycle and a constitution, living as a nation within a nation.
Worldwide
The mandate is to teach all nations. Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with official branches in London, United Kingdom; Atlanta; New Jersey; and New York, and groups in Missouri, Florida and the Caribbean. We are active in our communities and support various social causes.
Ministries
The teaching is carried by many means: music, art, theatre, worship, lessons and Bible study. The plural is deliberate.
